"Some day, in years to come, you will be wrestling with the great temptation, or trembling under the great sorrow of your life. But

I'm Back

May 22 - We had a wonderful time with our friends in Redmond this past weekend (even with the rain). One of the reasons people from the valley visit or move to central Oregon is for the sunshine and dry weather, so of course it did the opposite. Because of that and the fact that the purpose of our trip was to spend time visiting, I did not take many pictures. The cloud cover was so low that you could not see the surrounding mountains. I've included a picture of their son and his family that I took out on the deck. If you look behind them you can see a little bit of the view.

There were 3 couples and we've all known each other for several years. Our boys were the original reason we got to know each other, but they're in their 30's now so obviously the friendship stuck. In fact our hostess and I met when our boys were in the same preschool class (oh my, am I really that old?). The guys did their visiting on the golf course as well as over meals and just sitting around. We women did ours while shopping in Sisters on Saturday and then on Sunday sat in the family room with a cup of tea and just talked and talked and talked .

Of course our friends kept apologizing for the weather, but we assured them that we had had a wonderful time. We came to see them not the sites. They built a beautiful home big enough for company and that company eases the transistion for Linda along with frequent trips to the valley to sub in her old school district (she's a retired teacher). She makes friends easily so in the 8 months they've been there she's already acquired several. We will certainly visit again.
